THINKING OF JOINING BPG?

I am not a Bell Pensioner but my wife Marilyn is. Madam President of the Oshawa Chapter, Telecom Pioneers, Alice Gould, lobbied and brought the Bell Pensioners Group meeting to Oshawa last month. The C. A. W. hall in Oshawa was filled. I sat in on this meeting and found a great wealth of information on what the (BPG) were all about, what they were doing and what was needed to be done.

Today's "Toronto Star" reports that the Nortel Pensioners Union appeal for their pensions was denied. In these case the "Law" however flawed, must rule. Our government is looking at ways to change and protect workers and companies from the ravages of recessions on workers pensions.

They are listening to the voices of reason as of this item. BPG is one small but respected voice on the issue. They are your voice. They are the voices of all walks of Bell Employees. This voice isn't automatic though and without your support it can and will fade.

Thirty percent of you have spoken, have paid for membership but will that be enough to actually make a difference? If you add your voice and join now you can make this voice even stronger. Perhaps as strong as will be needed to save your pensions.

Unfortunately our democracy is often influenced more by what will get the votes rather than good sense or reason. For myself I was very grateful to the CAW for their efforts on behalf of my pension and I gladly pay my dues there.

BPG membership is $20.00 per year. What would a 20% reduction in your pension cost? Add your voice. Join the group and be heard.

You can get more info from their Web Site. Have a look and join.
