To this end, we look at a few of the reasons why we are challenged with enticing new members:
- As most companies, including Bell, have moved to Defined Contribution (DC) plans, the future pool of retirees with Defined Benefit plans become much less than in the past
- As our plan sponsor is very financially strong, most pensioners do not worry about the monthly payments coming in
- BPG no longer has access to the list of individuals retiring as previously published in Bell’s In Touch.
So, what have we done / can we do?
