Spreading The BPG Story At Creekbank
A group of volunteers and members of the BPG Ontario Central Board visited Creekbank on September 28, 2017. We set up information tables at 2 locations, #5099 and #5025.
Meeting with active Bell employees is an important part of our recruiting efforts, and very much a 2-way dialogue. Not only is it a great opportunity to provide information on BPG’s mandate and underline the need for strength in numbers. But we also learn from the employees’ perspective: seeing the high level of interest, hearing personal stories, the many expressions of “how come I’ve never heard of BPG”, and some disappointment from DC (Defined Contribution) members who wished they could join.
The dynamic duo of Lisa Lawrie (left) and Piera Brooks (right) pictured here, drew in many employees with their enthusiasm. Lisa is an active Bell employee in the Engineering group. Piera retired from Bell in 2016 and also worked in Engineering. A special “Thank You” also goes out to volunteer, Linda Bradley. Board members who gave so generously of their time for this event were: Kerri Murphy and Pam Fox, who were warmly greeted by former colleagues; John Bell, Titus Ramkhalawansingh and Camie Tang-Chang.
