BPG is proud to present the highlights of the Strategic Plan for 2021-2025, focused on five (5) key initiatives that will be implemented over time and contingent on our members’ approval and the capacity of our volunteer base to support these initiatives. Anyone willing to volunteer to assist us with these initiatives, please contact Tony Lepine at [email protected].
Our top priority has and will always be to protect the pension promise by educating and informing our membership of any pension changes and lobbying and advocating for legislative change. Our second priority is to attract and recruit new members and retain our existing members to maintain a strong presence.
Our new areas of focus will be on reviewing our relevance and mandate, improving the value proposition and streamlining our operational effectiveness. We need our members’ help to promote the value of BPG as word of mouth is our strongest asset.
In the area of value added services, BPG will investigate how we can provide additional value to our members with a members’ portal, expert information sessions and webinars with potential partnerships and benefits.
Since we are a volunteer organization, we will be looking at ways to optimize some of the volunteer roles to decrease the time commitment and improve the effectiveness of our processes.
Please review the attached presentation and provide us with your comments, suggestions and even your participation in a focus group so BPG can continue to be relevant for all pension holders. We want to thank our members for your continued support of BPG and in appreciation of this, all members in good standing for 2021 will receive one year of free membership for 2022.
Special thanks to Tony Lepine for spearheading this initiative, and to Ron Hunt for his tremendous coaching throughout the process, as well as to the Strategic Plan team members who contributed their time and expertise: Carol Ann Cole, Peter Dillworth, Denis Henry, Karen Lawson, Denis Marquis, David Milne, Bob Noseworthy, Dave Palmer and Natalie Wright.
